Short-term housing

A furnished first home can give you time to discover Geneva before choosing a neighbourhood. It is an option, rather than a required first step.

Your short-term housing search

  1. Define your first-home brief

We agree on dates, budget, location, household needs and any pet or school considerations.

  2. Research and compare options

We identify relevant accommodation, check availability and explain the conditions of suitable options.

  3. Visit and secure your stay

Up to three viewings, in person or remotely where feasible, plus help with the agreed application or booking process.

  4. Prepare your arrival

We coordinate agreed key and arrival arrangements, with time reserved for a handover.

What’s included

  • Accommodation research based on your arrival dates and agreed criteria
  • A relevant shortlist with availability and booking conditions checked
  • Up to three viewings within the total support allowance
  • Assistance with the agreed application or booking process
  • Agreed key, arrival and handover arrangements

Scope & practical details

For stays under 3 months. Up to 4 weeks of search and 9 total hours of support at the minimum fee, including research, communications, visits, travel, keys and handover. Viewing limits apply within that total. Search area: canton of Geneva. Separately billed parking is excluded from the fee calculation. A tailored allowance is confirmed in your quote when fees exceed the minimum.

Practical questions

Do I have to start in temporary accommodation?

No. Temporary accommodation is an option if you want time to explore Geneva or need a first base while looking for a longer-term home. We shape the search around your preferences and household.

How are visits and travel counted?

The minimum-fee package includes up to 9 total hours over up to 4 weeks of search. Research, communications, visits, travel, key collection and handover all use this allowance. Up to three viewings are included within that total. When the fee exceeds the minimum, a tailored allowance is confirmed in your quote.

What if I need more support or stop the search?

Extra time, extended searches, additional viewings or work outside the canton of Geneva require your prior agreement and are charged at CHF 180/hour. If you stop early, agreed work is billed up to CHF 600 in total, including the CHF 300 initial payment. Your written agreement sets out the details. Accommodation availability and acceptance cannot be guaranteed. If the included search period or support hours are exhausted without securing accommodation, we discuss an extension with you. Without an extension, completed work is charged up to CHF 600, including the initial payment.
